so…
at the wedding tonight…
I pretty much know 4 people excluding the bride and groom. I’m seated at a table with some the bride’s friends and their significant others. A while into the reception I get talking to one of the guys at the table. We’re talking about Baltimore, where the wedding is being held, and he says something along the lines:
“well this area… this is the gay part of town, so don’t go out to any clubs around here and if you manage to drop your keys you better kick them home.”
I simply thank him for the “useful information” — that’s what I call it.
In fact, I’m attracted to guys, which, by definition, makes me gay.
I wonder if I should be more disappointed in the fact that he assumes a gay part of town means a straight guy (or any guy for that matter) is likely to get butt-raped if he goes out, or that he assumes all the new people he meets (me included) are automatically straight.
ugh.
